As a weekendcaravaner it’s so lovely to find a pub that just meets your every need and more … Beautiful setting, such welcoming , friendly , accommodating staff that go above and beyond to ensure your visit is perfect .. Home from home . Great ales and ciders , freshly cooked food and most of all my dog is made as welcome as we are …my Simba is my family and if the dogs not treated as family then it’s not worth my visit … As a volunteer for a dog rescue back home I can say this pub just oozes so much love and compassion for our wonderful four legged friends .. And Alfie the resident dog is living proof how compassionate the landlord and landlady are about dogs . Take time out and pay them a visit . You’ll definitely be back again and again X ❤️????

Welcome to the pub where Meet and Greet is performed by Alfie, four paws, a wet nose and an abundance of love. Alfie likes to share his water bowls, there are lots to choose from. You can relax in front of the fire or play in the garden.
Oh, and there’s plenty of beers, wines and spirits, oh, and food for the humans who might be tempted to share a bit or give you doggy biscuit if you are lucky.
Alfie the dog greets you at the door to make you feel like your home. With a waggling tail to welcome you in, you couldn’t find a better Inn. A place to rest your paws and pull up a pew. With friendly staff, great beer and a pork pie or two. And with mans best friend by your side your couldn’t find a better rendezvous.

Dog lovers.. rejoice! This pub welcomes all dogs of any shape or size! Your dog will be greeted with love and compassion. It has water bowls in the bar, garden and outside the front door. Can’t forget Alfie, the chocolate labrador likely to introduce himself with a smile. Would highly recommend!
Tried to get in through the door of the pub yesterday evening to be blocked by either the owner or a regular customer( couldn’t see from the back) KISSING a gorgeous dog…. well letting the dog lick him all over his lips, mouth and face!!! Not wanting to disturb this outpouring of love I tried to squeeze past, so cute!!!
Said dog ( think it must belong to owners) then trundled around the pub not getting in anyone’s way, nuzzling up to customers who wanted it.
We don’t have a dog at home but would feel very welcome here if we did. Love the fact the owners dog is part of the furniture here.
