Classic town pub dating back to 1835 with three distinct drinking areas.  Finalist on several occasions in the Great British Pub Awards, this friendly real-ale led house holds a Cask Marque Award for the quality of its real ales and is a regular entrant in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide.  Only four minutes’ walk from Oakengates Railway Station, the disabled entrance is at the rear, adjacent to the car park and Oakengates Bus Station.

Dogs (and humans) are welcome, if well-behaved.  Dogs are rewarded with doggy treats and a bowl of water; humans have to buy their own food and drinks!

Amongst other events, live music takes place on the first two Thursdays and first Saturday of each month, with Telford Comedy Club on the second Tuesday.  Shropshire’s longest-running Open Mic Night is on the last Thursday of each month with Quiz night on the last Sunday.  We hold our annual charity music day “Dog Day Afternoon” in September, raising money for the charity “Terrier S.O.S.“.

Comedy night is held in the front room and is not suitable for dogs.  For music events (also mostly in the front room), please consider if your dog’s presence is compatible with the event.  If not, they may be more comfortable in the back room.

Regular doggy customers include Welsh Terriers George and Tess Bell.  George is a brand-ambassador for Vets’ Kitchen dog foods.  See http://georgethelad.blogspot.com/
