There are always a few doggies at the Ring ‘o Bells – they’re welcome in the pub and in the lovely garden at the back, so me and my pooch know we’ll feel at home. It’s the perfect end to a walk up The Coombe – pint of Butcombe, bowl of water with my name on, and Scooby snack! Highly recommended!
My local the Ring has always welcomed walkers and their dogs. They have always welcomed any dogs and always provide snacks and have plenty of water bowls for them and encourage the dogs to have pride of place in front of the logs fires. They even had doggy treats shaped to their logo of the pub. They also introduced a dog club called ‘The Ring O Bowls’ where you may purchase a personalised dog bowl from them and your dog becomes a member. Whenever you bring your dog in they bring out his/her personalised bowl for them to drink from. Owners get a tankard – so why shouldn’t dogs get their own bowl. Dogs welcome signs always outside the pub and they have a big dog show at their annual Cider and Cheese Fayre in May last time judged by ITV’s Julia Bradbury and pop star Sophie Ellis Bextor. They also have the Dog Bakery!!
