Warmest welcome I had when visiting with a shy dog, not used to pubs. Owner offered the dog a dog chew (she asked first!) and were so friendly and helpful. I went back with the whole family for a family celebration and saw other pub goers had their happily settled dogs with them. There’s no garden and it’s not a huge pub. But if it’s a friendly welcome and good food you’re after, I can highly recommend.

14 October 2016 at 8:32amAny of my three dogs are always welcome, even all three at once. The place has a relaxed attitude towards its canine clients and always has treats and water bowls at the ready. The staff members always take time to get to know the woofs and there is a real community of doggy clients from guide dogs, to large dogs, to the one that lives opposite and just hangs out when he feels like it. There are even a few roast dinner scraps to be had for the discerning dog.
For the humans there is a good menu with generous portions and friendly staff to offer you a plethora of beverages. In the winter a fire keeps the place snug and in the summer there is space outside to stand and solve the world’s problems. What else do you need?
