We adore England’s unique countryside heritage and The Cow at Dalbury sits at the heart of that. We have travelled extensively and while, often well run and efficient, we have a mild dislike for the ‘corporate hotels’ we often find ourselves in around the world, yearning for the friendly and comforting feel of the English Inn. The guestrooms are completely individual, no two rooms are the same, although all offer full facilities for work or pleasure whichever room you stay in. The Cow at Dalbury stands on the village green in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, a stone’s throw away from the breathtaking Peak District with its sublime scenery and plethora of interesting and varied walks through the hills and valleys. Perfect for visits from our four legged friends and their owners! Dogs are welcome in the bar area. Furthermore, Rooms 1-6 (located to the ground floor) welcome dogs and are all fitted with external doors leading onto a private patio area. You are politely asked to make us aware at the time of booking if a dog will be accompanying you during your stay with us; each dog is charged additionally at £15 per stay, dog beds and food can provided upon request. We have, through a combination of extension, re-fitting and renovation created a 12-guestroom inn with a warm heavily beamed bar & dining room. We have deliberately stripped back the years to expose the original features of the centuries old pub creating what we hope you will find a soothing setting for food or drinks and conviviality. We hope you find our menus exciting, we endeavour to source 90% of all food from local suppliers within 30 miles, guaranteeing provenance and quality provided by our highly selected suppliers. Our menu is primarily a small plates assortment encouraging grazing and sharing which we hope will set your taste buds a tickling.
