We are dog owners and dog lovers. When we opened the brewery tap in 2011 we put up a sign ‘Dogs welcome, children must be on a lead.’
We have a tin of doggie biscuits on the bar and customers who bring their dogs get a biscuit with their change! We have an outside balcony area and water bowls which are cleaned regularly. (twice a day & more if necessary) Our floors are wooden and easily cleaned, therefore no worries about muddy paws or boots. We have a calendar this year with photos of some of our customers dogs. The money raised was donated to our local dogs home, where some of these dogs found new owners. We have a competition at Christmas for the best dressed dog. Our pub dogs often drag their owners in for a pint after a walk! One customer was overheard saying… “It’s like Cruft’s in here on a Sunday”

The Irwell Works Brewery is to be found located within the centre of Ramsbottom.
The brewery tap literally sits on top of the brewery itself.
Don’t let the name of the breweries pale ale “Mad Dogs and Englishmen” put you off from visiting.
Doggies just dig this place every time.
No matter what time of day or night, many a posh pooch is always to be found.
Our beers ordered were just pulled to pawfection, tasted pawsome and in no time was wuffed down by all.
I bet you think that I may well have turned “barking mad” from the drinking of loads of beer!
Well you might be just right there, as I am Lilly Loo Loo, a friendly, well behaved, beer drinking, pub fun loving, miniature, long haired, black and tan, Dachshund dogie.
I love the pubs dogie gravy bones however the pubs dogie bowls of water are just off the menu for me.
Unless, if truth be known, they would be found to be filled with either my favourite tin plate dark mild or iron plate Lancashire stout.
How wagtastic would that be!
Happy Dogie Days,
Lilly Loo Loo, the miniature, long haired, black and tan Dachshund dogie.
