Joyce and Hughen always welcome our two cocker spaniels, whether we are just calling in after a long walk or are having a few drinks with the “Friday night locals”. Both dogs sit eagerly waiting for a treat from Joyce or her friendly and helpful bar staff. A fantastic dog friendly pub!
The Black Horse is a very friendly welcoming pub, Local people can bring their dogs and horses and the animals are accommodated and welcomed. Dogs have water and small snacks provided and houses have an area of open ground where they can graze while their riders have refreshments along side.
I am a regular patron of The Black Horse with my two dogs Tash and Tilly. Even when we are all muddy and wet from a long walk we are welcome. The girls are always given treats by Joyce and her friendly staff and Duffy, the pub dog is always on hand to give a doggy welcome. Tash and Tilly pull me in the direction of the pub, even if I am not planning on calling in (of course my girls mean everything to me so I have to oblige!). A grrrrrreat dog friendly pub.
There is always a welcome and complimentary biscuit for Molly and Daisy when they visit the Black Horse. Molly who isnt small feels happy enough to take up floor space and lie at peoples feet! There is a great friendly atmosphere for man, woman and dog but for those not happy with our canine friends there’s plenty of dog free space.
Quite possibly the most dog friendly pub. Anywhere.
I’m a frequent visitor (and sometimes I take my human with me). I’m always made very welcome and frequently nip upstairs to help Duffy, the pub dog, with his dinner. I’ll then pop back down for some complimentary biscuits and belly rubs.
I whole heartedly recommend this pub to all my canine friends.
