Set a stones throw from the beautiful, popular dog walking location of Wimbledon Common, the Hand in Hand is truly a traditional village pub set in London. Being a traditional dog friendly pub with a wide range of real ales, cosy atmosphere and part of our local community are at the core of the business. Putting our four legged customers at the fore has grown over recent years and raised thousands of pounds for pet charities.
Dog treat bags, doggy dinners, dog beer, homemade dog liver brownies, our summer doggy paddling pool #lidofor fido, dog portrait artist exhibition, our annual dog walk – walking for paws, doggy wall of fame are all things our team and customers love being part of. We even have our very own two legged marathon running dog – Daisy – as our assistant manager Christine decided to celebrate our dog friendliness by running the London marathon this year dressed as Daisy Dog. We welcome our canine customers familiar fury faces and new – they are considered very much part of the pub.

14 October 2018 at 3:42pmThis pub is like coming home! The friendly staff, great varied ales, good food & …… ‘dog friendly’ doesn’t do justice to what the atmosphere here is. It is lovely to take my dog somewhere where she is welcomed & gets treats!!! I hope the planned refurbishment enhances what is already a fabulous pub.

27 October 2017 at 5:50pmThe Hand in Hand is quite the best “doggy” pub that I have ever known. Apart from just being there and letting dogs in, they really do make dogs welcome.
Helpful Review 1An amazing amount of liver seems to find its way from the kitchen to the dogs which, of course, the dogs love, in addition to all the ‘bikkies’ etc.
They run at least one “doggy” day a year, with guided walks on the Common in various groups, a “beauty” competition and lovely prizes.
Perhaps, most of all, the pub’s staff are just dog lovers and are not at all averse to getting down on their knees and playing with the dogs when circumstances allow

2 September 2017 at 9:53amThis is the most friendly pub, and on a Sunday it is packed with dog owners. My dog Lillie was “Dog of the day” last Sunday and her picture is pride of place on the wall. 25 October 2016 at 6:22amWe lunched here when visiting my daughter, with my two Golden Retrievers, on a Friday. Nearly every customer had happy dogs with them. All the staff seemed to be dog lovers, making a fuss of the animals with dog biscuits and water. The human food was very well cooked and presented. Being right by Wimbledon Common, this pub is ideally positioned for a good walk with the dogs to work up an appetite.
