Situated in the South Downs country park The George Inn at Finchdean dates from the 18th Century and has been extended over the years to now offer dining facilities for up to 70 people inside with a further 100 seats on benches in the garden area (weather permitting). A traditional country pub and restaurant  within easy reach of the A3M and A27. There are over 20 parking spaces in the main car park with many more overflow spaces to the side and on the large field at the rear. The George is the ideal base for many walking routes over the Downs.

Jack, a beautiful black and sable German Shepherd lives at the pub with his forever family and loves to welcome his four legged friends to join him in the bar area and extensive garden (where poo bags can always be found next to the bins). He also loves to share his basket of dog biscuits!

We choose to drink here because we get to enjoy the friendship of all the doggy visitors, as we can’t own one this is our free pet fix a couple of times a week

A “proper” pub with large garden and good choice of very well kept real ales including the excellent Timothy Taylor Landlord. Finchdean is a small, pretty hamlet 1.5 miles north of the village of Rowlands Castle, situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park. The pub is popular with locals, walkers and their dogs. Jack is the most laid-back GSD I’ve ever come across. Dog biscuits and water are freely available!

Great pub and incredible dog friendly. Dogs are not just welcome they are encouraged to come in and have a drink and a treat.
Loads of places to walk around this area and a lovely pint / water bowl at the end.
