One of the few pubs in the area that allows dogs in all areas, any time of the day. Dog bowls are provided and the staff and other customers are welcoming to dogs and other customers alike.
In a ‘town’ like Barnet, forever fighting against the suburban homogeneity that goes with proximity to central London, it will always be difficult to define a local identity – especially for in a positive sense. I am pleased to say that the Mitre is one of Barnet’s assets in this ongoing campaign, and their positive attitude towards dogs is an unsurprising bonus. I’ve been to pubs who welcome the people less than the Mitre welcomes dogs – long may it continue!
