The pub is in the middle of fabulous walks in a National park - the New Forest. Within walking distance from a campsite too. we usually park near Longdown and walk across heath, over rivers and under railway bridges to get here, usually with company from the New Forest ponies. Or you can park for free opposite the pub and stroll out in all directions across the heath and forest. You could even get a train here if you wanted to enjoy some of the local brewed beers. The food menu is really nice with a smarter eating area, relaxed seating too and also a outside garden area too. Best of all dog biscuits and even a special 'brew' provided for dogs (it's actually drinking water but it made Denzel feel special). The pub stands on its own so feels more relaxed than some of the other pubs in the New Forest towns. No problem with muddy boots either!
It's right next to the sea overlooking St Michaels Mount. It is ideal for dogs and their owners to have a drink and something to eat after playing on the beach. Drinking water provided for dogs.

This pub hosts the Great Global Greyhound Walk every year plus the local sighthound walks associated with this organisation every month.
