The Fauconberg is a beautiful 17th-century country inn, full of charm, character and history, nestled between the glorious North York Moors and the beautiful Howardian Hills, in the picturesque village of Coxwold. We are dog-friendly, just let us know in advance so we can have the doggy treats ready! And yes, we allow dogs in the rooms. £10 charge per dog applies. The Fauconberg has real character, with flagged floors, wooden beams and cosy log fires. It’s ideal for a fabulous meal, an evening of drinks with friends, or a perfect B&B break. We pride ourselves on our ‘great pub grub’, made using only the finest, locally-sourced Yorkshire produce – and plenty of it. It’s what you’d expect from The Fauconberg. All our lamb, beef and pork is bred and reared locally. Our game is sourced from Yorkshire shoots, and our eggs are free-range and laid in Yorkshire. Why not stay the night. Four luxury and four standard rooms, all beautifully furnished and with quality en-suite facilities – and each with its own unique touch. It’s perfect for a romantic country getaway, a family break, or as a base for a walking or cycling holiday. Of course, your dog can stay too, we provide dog treats, bowls and doggie fleeces or you can bring your own dog bed. In finer weather, you can stay outdoors, but with a roof over your head. Our Garden Room offers an alternative take on the glamping experience, with a wooden floor, cosy log burner, separate shower and composting toilet, plus your own private patio. It’s the perfect rustic retreat for the more adventurous. Where possible, the vegetables and herbs in your food and drink at The Fauconberg come straight from our kitchen and herb gardens. We’re talking feet, not air miles…

4 November 2019 at 7:06pmGreat pub in a great location. Set in the countryside close to York this pub is a cosy as they come, the pub itself fits right in to the area with decor of a typical old village pub and feels a central point of the village. We stayed the night in one of the double rooms and even with the window open at night it was very peaceful, breakfast in the morning was made to order and a good selection was available. The pubs is dog friendly with water bowls and biscuits available and plenty of locations to walk. All in all a little pub.

3 November 2019 at 6:32pmThe Fauconberg is our black Labrador Duke’s home from home! He’s spoilt rotten by the owners, staff and regulars alike, treated to dog biscuits and lots of strokes. Our local pub is not just our favourite pub because it’s so handy, but because our whole family are so welcome whenever we pop in. Cosy fires, tasty food and really friendly staff, there’s nowhere we’d rather go for a family supper or Sunday roast. We love it so much we’re all going for Christmas lunch this year! Duke too!
