The Halzephron Inn, welcomes friends with two legs as well as four (sometimes 3) like family. Nothing is too much trouble, if staying with us, your furry companion can be guaranteed a sausage for breakfast. If dining in the bar or just stopping off for a drink, there are treats and liquid aplenty.

27 October 2018 at 7:49pmI have just finished writing and launching a trilogy of children’s books inspired by the area and our many nights spent in this little very pub with Jack the terrier were highlights. Warm welcome, great beer, wine, fare and roaring fire near amazing beaches and scenery. Jack, who is JJ in the Legend of the Lost series, never wanted to leave https://legend-of-the-lost.com/

24 September 2018 at 12:59pmWe love this pub and the pub loves us. Everyone loves our two Springer Spaniels (Pixie and Beeley), who often visit after a swim in the sea. Although bedraggled and wet, they are given treats, lots of fuss, and soon settle down under the table, but keeping a watchful eye while hoping for another treat. None of us is ever disappointed.
Helpful ReviewThis is the classic Cornish pub, just off the main tourist trail, and the best food for miles around.

6 September 2018 at 5:47pmWe’ve had the pleasure of knowing Claire, Ian, and Dave (and their dogs) for many years and all their pubs have been known for their dog friendliness. We’ve been around the country a fair bit with our dogs and found a few great dog friendly pubs over the years, but without fear of contradiction you won’t find a more dog friendly pub in the U.K. than The Halzephron Inn. It’s location is absolutely stunning, the food is equally fantastic and the welcome everyone receives needs to be seen to be appreciated. Do yourselves a favour and pay a visit to this fabulous pub and enjoy the experience. Just remember , your 4legged friend(s) will be greeted first and if you become a regular visitor Claire will train the bigger dogs to put their feet on the bar edge to receive their treat while the smaller ones receive ground level service but big or small they all get cuddles. It is a busy pub, especially “in season”, but when ever you visit, whether solo or with 4legged friends, you are guaranteed the warmest of welcomes.

6 September 2018 at 5:37pmFantastic pub, fantastic staff, fantastic location. What more can you ask for?
Well, I suppose you could ask for a pub where the 4-legged visitors are just as welcome, if not more, as their owners and that’s exactly what you get at The Halzephron Inn. The most dog friendly pub I have ever been in, and I have set foot in a few (I blame the other half for leading me astray)!!

Helpful ReviewWARMEST WELCOME
Dogs and humans alike receive the warmest welcome at this fantastic hostelry! It’s a very busy place, which is run with smooth, polite efficiency and a smile.
KIND, DOG-LOVING STAFF
There are dog biscuits on the bar and landlady, Claire, takes great pleasure in sharing them with her canine visitors, while we humans enjoy fabulous food and drink!
We mislaid one of our dogs’ leads; Claire saved the day by lending us a spare!
SENSE OF HUMOUR
Typical of dog lovers, staff learnt our dogs’ names before ours. I think we’re not the only people who have booked our table in our dogs’ names!
LOCATION
Easy to find (just off the main road next to RNAS Culdrose). Parking. GREAT VIEWS from the front.
OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK for food and drink. See website for serving times.

31 August 2018 at 10:39pmAn amazing location with all-year-round warm welcome for both doggies & their 2 legged buddies,
Claire makes a point of welcoming 4-legged friends, amazingly she remembers their name & with the owners permission the doggie gets treat or two & a cuddle.
If you’ve not been there, The Halzephron Inn has amazing sea view & often there are spectatular sunsets all year round.
If you’re hungry it’s great food, I highly recommend the Sunday lunch & particulatly that you book in advance).
What’s not to love ❤

31 August 2018 at 8:51pmClaire is always sooo welcoming to Boogie, biscuits and fuss and cuddles. Boogie loves her trips to our local and we feel very lucky they are so accommodating especially as Boogie is still only a puppy and is learning. On another note they were super helpful last year when our cat went missing so animal loving In Every way, lovely genuine owners and great local friendly atmosphere. Good food and selection of wine beer and gin too, great winter warmers on offer after a blustery beach and cliff path walk with a warming fire to top it off in winter and al fresco sea views in summer.

31 August 2018 at 4:09pmThere is a warm welcome waiting for dogs (and dog owners alike). Doggie treats are on the bar alongside the beer taps!
Helpful ReviewThe beer is excellent – great variety and choice, the food is scrumptious and dogs wet (this is Cornwall after all!) and dry are equally as welcome.
They even have blankets for the colder weather, if you’d prefer to watch the sun go down outside.

2 September 2017 at 10:12amYou can be sure of a very warm welcome from Claire and her team at The Halzephron Inn, Gunwalloe. Very dog friendly, dog biscuits on the bar and you can always be sure of a fuss from staff and visitors alike. Serving excellent food and real ales with a large bar area and outside eating area where woofs can accompany their owners. There’s a separate dining room for those not visiting with their faithful hounds too! Great location, just of the SW coast path and a few minutes walk up from the beach.
