28 October 2016 at 4:02pmThe Royal Oak known locally as ‘The Dickie’ due it’s long ago association with donkeys, is a wonderful pub to visit. Truly traditional, unlike many other public houses in the vicinity, it is situated in the beautiful Suffolk countryside between the vibrant communities of East Bergholt and Brantham. The pub has a single bar, tiled floored, no music or gaming machines. Outside is a very spacious grass covered beer garden conducive to dogs and their owners alike and with a warm welcome within the pub it is a very popular venue for dog owners. The clientele are able to enjoy banter and stimulating conversation in a relaxed and happy haven, over a great pint of beer.
