Definitely the greatest doggy friendly pub around . They own dogs themselves and welcome doggie friends . Always a cuddle and treats on hand with a huge bowl of fresh water . Great dog walks right outside the door to work up an appetite for the fab food also on offer.
Total gem of a pub .
Used to go there 40 years ago. If you sat on a bench seat 2 Golden Labs sat next to you one on each side. As you went to drink your pint a Lab would hit your elbow hard with his paw making it difficult to drink. LoL
Took a BT in last year. They made a fuss of him, gave him treats and let him sit under our table while we enjoyed our excellent pub lunch.
Management and staff seem to love dogs so a great old-fashioned pub to visit.
Lovely pub, beautiful surroundings lovely walks for dogs extremely dog friendly large bowls of fresh water outside dogs are welcome inside the pub and are greeted with lots of cuddles belly rubs and treats staff are friendly service and food is fantastic
Lovely pub, extremely dog friendly and brilliant food! Always very welcoming, lots of doggy treats, cuddles and plenty of water, what more could you want!
We’ve been coming here for a few years now, and I have to say that the John Bunyan is second to none as a dog-friendly pub. They have the obligatory water bowl (very large), and are always on hand to offer a little treat to those who deserve it!
There really is very little that they won’t do for their furry friends.
That aside, the pub also offers great quality food (with very decent portions), and excellent beers. Their specials board caters for all tastes, including vegan and gluten free options.
We hope to keep visiting the John Bunyan for many more years to come.
