We are situated in a small town about 7 miles from the coast in Dorset. The town has a lot of property that are holiday lets so we see lots of locals and holiday makers with dogs. Sometimes there can be more dogs in the pub than people!!
Very dog friendly pub with a couple of lovely greyhounds in residence; we always pop in for a drink and get a warm welcome. Definitely recommended for anyone with or without a 4 legged friend in tow….
Great pub – Landlord and Landlady Brian and Gail are dog lovers with two greyhounds, Sky and Blue, that they have given a home to from the Greyhound Rescue which speaks volumes about them.
The pub is traditional and cosy with a warm welcome to dogs and well behaved owners! Our Jack Russell, Milo, is a regular at the bar and likes to sit up on a stool and Lord it over everyone. Getting him in the pub is not a problem, getting him out is another matter! He digs his heels in and refuses to move! We now have double trouble as his puppy, Monty, has also become a regular! It’s a tough job dragging them out of the pub but somebody has got to do it!!
The landlord has 2 Greyhounds.
The Local Dogs are more friendly than the Humans.
The Landlady bakes Dog Biscuits for the Greyhound charity (they taste great).
Really dog friendly, they even sell home made dog biscuits to raise money for the Greyhound Rescue society. They also do great reasonably priced food and have a back room which is great if you want to be out of the busy bar area. Owners are friendly and helpful.
