We have been totally dog friendly for the 16 years we have run it, and on occasion have had more pooches than people in the pub. We provide water, treats and towels to our furry friends. I am so pleased that the furies bring their walking companions for a walk to The Poachers. We have complaints that the owners are dragged in – unwillingly and have to drink beer whilst the pooches get pampered.

11 October 2016 at 12:36amLots of doggies go in the Poachers and have a lovely time. They get nice bowls of water and a biscuit and have clean towels to wipe their paws on. It’s lovely for them to be able to accompany their humans to the pub.

10 October 2016 at 5:02pmFrom 8 weeks old for our gorgeous boy Jack this has been his second home. Rob and Helen are the most dog friendly landlords we know. From pooch bags to poo bags fluffy towels to wipe down your soggy pooch to a pint of the best bolly water served by one of the fantastic girls behind the bar. Our four legged friends are never left out, cuddles and pats and a doze in front of the roaring fire after a cold winters walk. This place is amazing..
